Ali McK & IYZ – Driver E.P

For the first release of 2019, Tumble Audio welcomes Notts based Ali McK & IYZ to the label with their ‘Driver EP’.

These guys had a blistering 2018, unleashing some of the
best UK Funky tunes through their own imprint Articulate Records, as well as other established labels including More Time and 1Forty. They were also asked to remix Skream’s ‘Midnight Request Line’
by the man himself, which was premiered by Skream on Rinse.FM. Things have not slowed down in 2019, with a guest mix on Toddla T’s BBC 1xtra show and a banging release on Southpoint.
We also have two heavyweight producers on the remix front for this EP, Tumble mainstay Killjoy and One Puf, Aussie legend Coldpast
bring the dance floor heat.

The EP kicks off with title track ‘Driver’ rasping through the speakers with a huge bass line that is backed up by solid tribal percussion. Add in the legendary driver vocal sample and some nifty textures, and you get this absolute beast. Second track ‘London’s Calling’ maintains the energy and UK Funky flavour with a wobbling, dubstep-esq bass line and delightful strings. Skippy drums give the track the energy to project any rave into energy mode. Kicking off the remixes Killjoy twists ‘Driver’ into a warped out house number, with Coldpast turning the original into a full-fat UK Garage stomper, which also takes a nod to oldskool rave. All in all, this is an EP made to pack a punch
and to get people absolutely having it.

DJ support: Skream, Marcus Nasty, Murder He Wrote and Jamz Supernova.

Radio support: Radio 1, Rinse.FM, Reprezent and NTS
