Solid Steel (15th June) We welcome Chloe Robinson aka Barely Legal, who in a few short years has quickly risen up the ranks of the UK club selection to be revered as one of the most promising DJ’s on the circuit. From House, Garage and Grime to Drum n Bass and beyond, Barely Legal has proven herself an aficionado in all genres on the club spectrum, consistently exhibiting her broad tastes across each set. Being strictly only a DJ has allowed Barely Legal to move freely in different genres and push forward her skill for curation. She showed this with her Rinse FM residency at the start of 2018, in which she was able to expand on the sounds which influenced her by inviting guests such as Four Tet, Addison Groove, Mall Grab, Silkie & EL-B to play alongside her. 2017 marked the launch of her new record label, Pretty Weird Records, with the debut release from ‘Near’ in May and a follow up EP from Manchester based ‘Chimpo’. She told us;
“An eclectic mix of dark, weird and wonky sounds. I wanted to keep this mix fresh so I’ve included a nice amount of forthcoming tracks with a few throw backs for nostalgic measure. It’s quite a different selection to what I usually play in clubs and was really fun to dig a little deeper when picking the tracks for this :)”
