There are few labels with closer ties to the UK than Roska Kicks & Snares. Since 2008, Wayne Goodlitt’s imprint has pushed several strands of garage, dubstep and house synonymous with the tangled web of British dance music.
The music made by Roska and his peers has most recently taken influence from the bass-led UK funky sound, a style we have the honour of presenting in Farringdon on 23rd June. Roska invites label affiliates DJ Champion and DJ Pioneer, while UK bass heavyweights Murder He Wrote and Majora also represent the sound of his influential imprint.
When we approached Roska for a mix ahead of his takeover, he compiled a selection of tribalist drums and hard-hitting subs now typical of the Kicks & Snares sound palette.
