If Majora isn’t already on your radar, here’s another reason why he should be. The Bath/Brighton-based producer whose music lives at 877 Records is back with another stomping release.
Drum Thing’s irresistibly groovy remix of “Salt No Vinegar” is a head-nodding little tribal tune that packs a percussive punch. While certainly doing justice to the original, he cleverly re-invents Majora’s catchy, blippy lead into an eerier, reverberated version and delivers with it a four-on-the floor beat that makes it impossible to stay still.
In short, “Salt No Vinegar” marks another impressive remix from London-based newcomer, Drum Thing, and a continued exploration of sound for Majora – who is no stranger to fusing tribal influences into his tracks. Both producers have dished out some serious heat over recent months, and this EP only further solidifies why they’re ones to watch.
