Perfect Driver just turned One Hundred! For the drivers who’ve been exploring music with us since the beginning and to those just getting started, en route to perfection, we thank you from the bottom of our trunks.
Hustling in Los Angeles: The road here was interesting as we reflect on the imprint being conceived a whopping ‘One Hundred’ releases ago in 2012. It was a simple way for Matthew Anthony to put out his own version of house music. Being the chief operator behind the scenes, the project consumed him becoming a devoted passion, slowly building one release at a time at an average rate of one every third week. A similar schedule to bigger brands with larger teams, the work was done in his free time, apart from touring and working various projects and/or full-time roles. Here we are all these years (and songs) later, Perfect Driver is going stronger than ever.
The label would be nothing of coarse, without the talented artists contributing their music and the dedicated fans showing up to our events. Whether it’s California or Florida, Michigan or Hawaii, London or San Francisco, our friends and supporters have graciously enabled and promoted the Perfect Driver sound on the best dance floors and radio shows world-wide. We feel that so many of our artists “should” be on this compilation and narrowing it down to these few was no easy task, but we asked around online and at shows, then coupled fan favorites with the most downloaded songs and we came up with this, PDM100.
