Just under a decade into his diverse career, London producer James Jacob aka Jakwob is still one of the most innovative figures in electronic music. He owes this in part to his constant musical evolutions, but also his inspiring collaborations. Over 50 remixes, charting crossover singles, a varied collection of EPs, mixtapes and releases under many aliases across cult labels including Tiga’s Turbo Recordings (Feel So Good EP), Shadow Child’s Food Music (Flow EP) and New York classic Strictly Rhythm (The Point EP) all confirm this. Sonically, they range from dark and visceral bass/techno creations to percussive led ambient bliss and, more recently, a return to more experimental sounds in this, his next offering. Lifted EP, a five track journey through eerie euphoria with broken techno and percussive drive is due 10th October on his own imprint Boom Ting Recordings.
Following ‘Bring The Heat’ and ‘Feel So Good’ (the latter signed to Tiga’s Twin Turbo imprint) the London producer returns with his own Lifted EP; a five-track journey through eerie euphoria with broken beat, techno and percussive drive.
